Once a month the Sr. missionaries of the Ogden Utah Mission get together for dinner and a little Family Home Evening activity. This past week we went up to the Wilkinson's cabin....well, it really was a "Tree House". It was located near Mt. Green. It was quite interesting. It was kind of like a Swiss Family Tree House. Elder Wilkinson is in the construction business so he started with a picnic deck at the base of a very large tree (I don;t know what kind). From the deck there was a walkway that led up one flight of stairs. That next level had another deck with a bar-b-q on it and a cabin (that he was still working on) that was going to be there kitchen. A short ways behind this cabin was another cabin that was the "Master Bedroom". Another longer deck, walkway, led to another sitting area that was covered. You could look out over their property, roughly 300 acres, and see their own ski lift, yes ski lift. Only family members can use it due to insurance liability. If you consider up the tree, another flight of stairs leads to a bunk room, for folks to use with their sleeping bags, and further up another level is an observation room where you can look out in any direction, 360 degrees. It was a fun place to have a bar-b-q.
Today I had to run to the office to send out a text message to the AP's. I smiled when I saw my computer. There was a note from two Elders that said, "Sister Lund, you really are our favorite. We appreciate all you do for us. Elder R and Elder B." Those two missionaries will never know how much that little kindness note meant to me.
This next weekend is the weekend that we will have the 5 visiting GA's come speak to us. The stress level is pretty high right now. I will be glad when we are through with the conference. I am anxious to hear Elder Bednar. On Tuesday of the following week, Aug 23, we will have Elder Maynes of the 70, newly assigned to be over our mission, come out for a three day visit during zone conference. Then, we hopefully will get back to normal, whatever that may be. Love this mission....love you all!
