There is nothing in this world that can ever take the place of good friends and family. Many times our lives have been blessed by support and help of both friends and family. We feel your prayers and we appreciate your food. There are two women in our ward that have been feeding us regularly, every Thursday night. Most recently, one of these dear sisters herself was in need. She is pregnant and became extremely sick, couldn't eat, had vertigo, and found herself in the hospital. She eventually needed to have a feeding tube put in to support the new baby's health. She is home now yet still has the feeding tube. And all through this her "Partner in crime" in feeding us a meal continued on. I told her that Jenny was more needful than us and we could fix ourselves dinner. She felt so sad, I could tell, as I told her to help support Jenny instead of us. Incredible to have friends like them.
There is nothing I get upset with more, than home repairs, a broken refrigerator, or toilet, or sprinkler, or air conditioner, or electrical issue or whatever. I just hate it. Mainly, because it turns out to be a big deal or to be expensive. These last two weeks we had broken sprinkling pipes. First, we had to replace the main big valve that went from the street Weber Water connection to our yard sprinklers. Once that was replaced, and$1,700. later, we turned the water on and found we had another leak that was sending water into our basement window well...did I mention I just about freak out when there is water in my basement? Fortunately, I called another good friend, John Percival, and he came right over. (Dad just doesn't have the stamina any more). Dick dug up the pipe, and John said that an elbow in the system had been broken off, due to the pressure. "But," he said, "this time I put a piece of iron into the joint so it won't break under pressure". After turning the water back on, and finding that there was another 2nd break, then replacing and fixing that pipe, we are now good to go. It took Dick and John about 5 hours to fix the pipes. I said thanks to John and I also said, "It is good to have friends that will give you a piece of the iron rod for strength and support". Thanks to every one of you for your prayers, meals, and "pieces of the iron rod" that help us.
Now, to find someone to help us fix the air conditioner.
Oh man! When it rains, it pours. I'm so sorry :( Glad the sprinklers are fixed.
