Busy seems to be the Pace
Things are pretty much humming along. Nothing really special to report. Elder Lund and I are helping with our own ward's youth conference. The leaders are going to bring the kids up to the Mission Office and we are going to spend 3 hours with them. We will have five different sections with them....learning what a missionary is, having them role play teaching about the restoration of the gospel, helping them learn how to recognize when the Holy Ghost is speaking, a section on reading the Book of Mormon, and one on the attributes of Christ. I am going to have the 2 AP's and their companions work with the kids. As I was talking with three of the four of them, I mentioned to one AP that I will need to give him something really special for his help, and to pay him back for his time and effort. He asked for beef jerky, said he loves it, and hasn't had any since he arrived in Utah (he's from Texas). The 2nd AP said that he too, wanted beef jerky (he is also from Texas). One of the companions was standing next to him. I said to him, "I guess that you too would like beef jerky?". He thought for a moment and then said 'No, but I really would like some seal jerky". You see, he is from Greenland. I thought for a moment, and then said, "These two guys from Texas want beef jerky. How about I give you some ice? He thought that was pretty funny.
