More to the Story

Last night, Elder Lund and I had the opportunity of going to the Ogden Rescue Mission and speaking with Larry (his wife died). Come to find out, she died in 2006 of the West Nile Virus. When he saw me, he apologized for getting up and walking out of our Sunday School class. I in turn apologized for anything that I might have said that he took fault at. We both just smiled at each other and started talking. I mentioned that it was certainly evident that he loved his wife. He pulled out 3 pictures to show us. I started to share, briefly, the plan of salvation and told him that he was merely separated from his wife and that there was a plan where he could be with her again. He listened, we read scriptures, discussed the pamphlet, Elder Lund shared two of his favorite scriptures, Elder M challenged him to read and pray about what we discussed, Elder G. bore strong witness of the truths of what had been taught. A good spirit was there and the evening was very rewarding to me personally. We have another appointment to meet with Larry next Wed.
I love being a missionary and working in the office with the President and missionaries, but last night was so rewarding to me personally working with Larry and bearing testimony to the truthfulness of the gospel and the plan of salvation. It is easy to share my testimony that Heavenly Father lives and loves each of us personally. I hope Larry will feel the spirit and want to know more.
