About a month ago, Elder Lund (Dick) had the opportunity of going on Splits with Elder Nichols. Going on splits is one of the things we both enjoy doing. On this night, Elder Lund and Nichols had the opportunity to go teach Stephanie. Stephanie had two children, about 17 years old and 19 years old. She also had had triplets and all three died at the time of birth. Elder Nichols and his companion, Elder Brown, had previously met Stephanie and had left a Book of Mormon with her. On the night of their visit, Elder Nichols and Elder Lund taught her the first lesson. Stephanie had been reading the Book of Mormon which had been left. Now she knew the book was true and wanted to hear more. Elder Lund said that it was an incredible lesson. Last Saturday, Oct. 9th, Stephanie was baptized. We attended her baptism. She was so incredibly happy that she literally radiated a glow about her.
It was exciting to see that someone was honestly seeking to know the truth, and was brought to the waters of baptism. It will be interesting to see how Stephanie grows in the gospel.
