We Thank Thee Oh God, for a Prophet!

It has been several weeks since conference. Both Dick and I had the opportunity of attending both sessions of the Sunday conference. For the morning session, we sat up in the nosebleed seats. When Present Monson spoke and said, "Fear not, the Lord is with you, Fear not, the Lord is with you!" it was like electricity shot through me. I instantaneously know that somehow God was watching over me. I once again had the testimony that Pres. Monson was indeed the prophet of God, here on the earth, and I felt so tremendously lucky that of all the billions of people on the face of the earth, I was one of the lucky ones to be sitting at "a prophet's feet".

After conference ended, our Utah Ogden mission group went down into the parking lot and had a tailgate party. Sister Olsen had prepared lunches of sandwiches, chips, fruit and cookies for all of us.

Then we all went back up into the conference center to watch the afternoon session. This time we sat with all the Utah Missionaries in section 1 and we sat on row 6. All the general Authorities would come and say hi or stop and wave to us. The excitement of the missionaries was incredible. Then again, when Pres. Monson rose and looked into the audience and said "I love you" and then paused after saying that, it literally brought tears to my eyes. I knew that he loved me and again I felt that Heavenly Father also loved me. I wished that all of my loved ones could have been there with me.

I love you all, I know that Jesus Christ is our redeemer, Savior and Master, that he died to atone for our sins. I know that Heavenly Father knows each of us personally, loves us, and wants us to be happy. I know the Book of Mormon is true and that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God that helped to restore true doctrine back to the earth.

I have found that life can sometimes be hard, but the only way to have true happiness is to follow the gospel plan and to follow the Prophet.. I love you all.
