More than a Car Czar

Hello:
Last night about 8:00pm, Dick received a phone call from an Elder in Logan. There was panic in his voice as he exclaimed, "I turned the car off, but I can't get the key out!" I hear Dick give the prophetic instructions, "Put the car in park, turn it back on, put it in drive, put the car in park, and turn the car off, then take the key out". I could literally hear the elder scream for joy in that Dick's directions worked! I decided that Dick is more than a "car czar", he is also another mission "Father".  It has been most interesting to see the missionaries, both Elders and Sisters, listen attentively as Dick tells them about putting washer fluid in the car, rotating the tires, or changing the oil. They usually, (keyword being usually) listen to what he is saying. Many have called him back to say thanks for his help. There are just a few who break the car rules, and then end up losing their privilege to drive. Then Elder Lund really does become "the Car Czar".

I started physical therapy on my hand. There is still much swelling and still pain. This is supposed to help. Our one quadriplegic missionary, as I was walking out said ,"Have fun at the physical terrorist." I love Elder Wyatt and his sense of humor.

We have now been at the mission office over one full transfer schedule (6 weeks plus) and we are now starting to understand things. I have two "beasts" of reports that I still don't have a handle on, but other things I am starting to understand. Elder Lund has gone through zone conferences and car inspections and is getting in his groove as well. We come home tired but we love what we are doing. Thanks for your continued prayers and support.
