Hello:
This week was once again, very busy. The Mexican consulate decided to let the missionaries in. So, those elders waiting for a visa got to go visit at the Mexican consulate. The next day I received their tickets to fly to Mexico. When this happens, we have to get the missionaries in to Salt Lake to the consulate. Back to Ogden to their companion. Then have them pack up, I go back to Salt Lake to get their passports from the church. We regroup again with the missionaries, call their families to tell them of leaving the country, then make sure they are on the airplane. This process happened three times this week,so it really was crazy, but at the same time kind of fun. We will pick up two more elders from Ogden tomorrow and they will sleep at our home tomorrow night, so they can be on an early 7:00am flight to Mexico. It really is great to see Mexico finally open their doors to our elders.
Dick has been busy traveling to zone conferences, (Malad, Soda Springs, and Logan) so he can inspect cars and paperwork. He will attend two more zone conferences this week. One day he traveled about 250 miles. It seems we work in different areas during the day, but we always regroup at the end of our day. Most days we leave home around 6:30am and return home between 6:30 -7:30 pm. Some days we are so tired, about all we can do is sit. But we are happy and love what we are doing.
Last Monday, Pres. Olson had the senior couples over to his home for dinner. We were able to visit with the other Elder and Sister Lund serving in our mission, Bob and Dena. It was nice to see them. I couldn't help think how pleased and happy Granny and Grandpa would be to have Dick and Bob both serving now.
We have learned that as a "senior couple"' we have only one rule that we need to follow: Use common sense. This is one time i'm glad that age and experience counts. Glad we don't have a book of rules.
We are happy and love the Lord. Our thoughts and prayers go to you all. Thanks for your continued prayers and support.
Common sense??? What's that? Is there a book of rules for raising kids? If so, where can I find one?
ReplyDeleteI love that news...Kyle and I are really looking forward to serving some day because we're full of "common sense". Keep up the good work!
