Students from Arizona

It has been a fairly quiet week. The 2nd and third weeks after transfer week are quiet and allow me time to catch up. It has been nice to do that this week. On Wednesday, we had seven college-aged students from some school in Arizona come to the office. They had heard that there were a lot of church missionaries that could be found at our office and they wanted to talk with them to find out what Mormonism was all about. As it turned out, the only young full time missionaries who were there were the AP's and Elder W. Sister Christensen sent them to speak with Elder W. When Elder S., one of the AP's saw them, he started talking with them. One of the questions one of the students asked was "what does the 5 pointed star with the octagon around it that you use in art mean"? Both Elder W. and Elder S. tried to explain. I think that one of the college students was thinking that what he was thinking was that we were devil worshipers. Elder S. took them around the tabernacle where we are currently located and discussed the various art prints of Christ that were hanging on the walls meant. I was sitting at my desk and kept thinking that I should get the plan of salvation pamphlet and give to them. I never did....I didn't want to interrupt Elder S. and his teaching. The students stayed and talked for about 2 hours. After they left, I mentioned to Elder S. that I was going to give them a copy of the pamphlet so they could read more about it on their way back to Arizona. He just commented that that would have been a good idea, oh well. I kept thinking about these seven students and I said a silent prayer that if some one was looking for the truth that some how, they would come back.

Two days later, another group of three students came to find out more about the church. I immediately went and pulled out 10 pamphlets on the plan of salvation and the restoration, along with the new pass along cards that has the mormon.org web address. This time, Elder W. and his grandfather talked with the additional three students for about an hour and a half. I gave them pamphlets and additional ones for their friends. One of the three seemed very excited to learn of the gospel. He had many questions about the three degrees of glory. Who knows what will come of the 10 students coming to learn more about the gospel. But I am sure, that they have correct information about the plan of salvation and restoration and who knows what seeds have now been planted.

This week we will start packing for the move of the Utah Ogden Mission Office to the new location. Our actual move will be March 23, 24, and 25. I can hardly wait to wear pants for the move.
