Another Funny
As you know, we currently attend the Jefferson 1st ward. It is incredibly poor. Unlike most other wards and stakes in Utah, the four missionaries attending this ward usually only get dinner at a members house once a week(and often times the signup list goes around the Relief Society Room many times to get it filled up. Feeling badly that we can't sign up to have these Elders come to our house, we take them out to eat dinner during the week every now and then. What a funny bunch hungry Elders can be! We knew these missionaries were hungry. They had evidently decided to only get a cheap item on the menu, thinking that we too could only get them something moderately cheap in price. So, we ordered two appetizers to start the meal. They literally started to drool over the pictures of the ribs, so we encouraged the Elders to get them. Finally, their hunger got their "cheap humble attitude" and they ordered some ribs. They literally wolfed down the appetizers in a "blink". The main course disappeared as well when it came. When the waiter asked if we wanted dessert, we convinced the Elders to get something. Half way through the final bites of their dessert, they all put their hands near their heads and they started to lean, sort of shuffle, from side to side. We looked a little puzzled and one elder said, "Oh, don't worry. We are doing the "Tongan Crush". We learned this from our polynesian elders. It is what you do when you need to make a little more room for the last bites." So, now we know! The next time you are full but you want to eat that last bite of cheesecake, don't forget to do the "Tongan Crush" and I'm sure you'll be able to get it down.
