What the Lord expects
This week has been a tough and interesting week. Many different things were going on in the office. The Salt Lake Temple Square sisters went back to Temple Square. Our APs have been busy, but we have noticed there is a bit of immaturity and "attitude" by them. Our baptisms are down this month. Several missionaries are having issues with texting inappropriately. And Dick heard of a new trick of "putting the car in coast and opening the door so that your mileage doesn't increase. Today in Sunday the lesson was on sacrifice. I have thought a lot about what Jesus and Heavenly Father expect from us. I believe that we each have a sacrifice to make, that of a contrite heart and soul. We should feel badly that we sin and we are sorry for those sins. Each time we partake of the sacrament, we should think about the things we have done that are sinful and have a contrite heart in giving up those sins. I think that Heavenly Father wants us to be serious about what we do 24/7, each day. He expects us to be aware of the choices we are making and how it affects others. He expects our very best effort and anything less is just cheating him and our Heavenly Father. It is interesting to see some missionaries not being totally obedient and think that no one notices that they aren't being obedient. Are we the same way? Do we think we are pretty cool and that no one will realize that we are shortchanging the Lord through our actions? I have decided to recommit myself, once again, to try a little bit harder to be a little bit better. I think the Lord expects our best effort all the time.
