Busy, Busy, Busy

We have been at the Mission Office three days now. We have learned that no two days are alike, and things seem to be busy, busy, busy. Dick learned about registering cars, paperwork, finding missionaries to come pick up paperwork, receipts, filing records, whether the "dungeon" storage area at the office has extra clothing, coats, etc. for needy missionaries, and what the cycle is for receiving/returning cars to the church.

I learned that there is a six week cycle for what I do. There is a chart that shows what needs to be done each day during the 6 week cycle. I was hoping that I might be able to repeat tasks so that I might learn everything, but so far, I have not done the same thing twice. I was close to circuit overload today with the various merge programs the church has, all the reports, how to customize a report for any given instance, and all the missionaries that came into the office today (it was P day and the missionaries came for mail, and to handle whatever problems they had). I learned how to handle "ecclesiastical requests", how to change the missionary roster, change the email roster, send out Pres. Olson's weekly newsletter, send welcome letters to pre-MTC missionaries, figure postage to Spain and Germany and how to change a missionary's proposed travel plans home. It really is very interesting and we are incredibly busy (a 15 minute lunch was all the break we had).

We love what we are doing. We love being around the missionaries. We love the gospel. Thanks to everyone for your love and support.
